I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted – and not change the shape of my body.
That was in times, when I worked out so much, that it never mattered what I ate.
These days I don’t work out that much. And the shape of my body changes especially after times with high work load or many festivities. At some point (and after a lot of thinking and advice) it all made sense:
With the limited time I invest for work out I can’t compensate a bad life style anymore.
The limited time is probably due to a number of factors: A lot of work; Priority on family activities over individual fun; A lack of discipline (I like to sleep); And most likely more…
The bad life style is related to: Eating out a lot; Drinking a lot of beer (or wine, or gin, or vodka); Being in different places a lot of the time and a lack of a daily routine; …
It follows the old “shit in – shit out” rule.
Things need to change. Because of vain but also because of health.
I found out, that for me the following things helped.
Stage I – Limitations:
- Don’t drink more than three coffees a day.
- Drink more water.
- Leave out late dinners every once in a while.
Stage II – Changes:
- A yoghurt with some fruits will do for breakfast and will carry me well to lunch.
- Ginger tea tastes great, burns fat (according to yellow press) and you can have one any time of the day.
Over time I might find more useful ideas and document them here 😉 I guess it will remain a struggle
